When I got married, the hardest part about planning the wedding was finding a bridesmaid dress. I wanted something that would be flattering, look good in pictures, and fit within my budget. I ended up using purple wrap dresses, and they worked fine, but in all honesty, they were a little boring.
Lately, I’ve seen some really fun trends that remix the way people see bridesmaid dresses. In the past, it’s been traditional to have the dresses be exactly the same, with little or no embellishments, and one flat color. Over the next 2 weeks, I’m going to show you 4 different ways to break these trends in very wearable ways. I’ve partnered with bloggers, Whitney Johnson from WhitJXOXO, Karlee Andrews (the bride) from Madam Andrews, and photographer Anastasia Strate to show off these fun dresses.
The first dress is the Drop On In Dress from Downeast Basics. The center lace panel that joins the lace around the hem, is an elegant touch adding a bit of personality to the dress, without detracting from the bride. The soft knit fabric makes alterations a cinch, and dry cleaning is not necessary. The way the lace is placed running down the center of the dress has an overall slimming affect on the woman wearing it. You really can’t go wrong with that! It’s also available in a creamy gray, but I love the way this blue ties in perfectly with the bride’s floral crown.
